I know the psu and probly the m/b are overkill, but that's because in a fewish months i will upgrade to quad core and dual gfx cards...............and tbh the worst components for me to switch are psu and m/b so i rather keep the ones i buy now through the next upgrade. Also bought that cooler as i plan to (for the very first time) overclock my cpu.

Also can some spec me something similar but for ati (maybe future proofing it enough so i can pop in a pair of dx10 ati card without too much hassle).

i gave my newer set-up to my brother and i have been using his for a few months (crappy 9800xt ati, 3ghz p4, 1gig ram)..........I'm guessing even though i will upgrade again this current set-up should shoot that crappy one into pieces.

also any other set-ups you guys come up with would be great too :)

I would go for a cheaper card now and have some money left over for a dx10 card later.
I dunno I think that you should get a DX10 card later next year rather than sooner, when it's all mainstream.

I think getting a DX9 card to last you 12 months is quite justifiable... Just don't spend too much on it. But for me £160 is good for a 12-month card, then sell it for £50 or whatever in 12 months and get an even better DX10 card than they sell now :)

thxs all for the advice :D

i haven't got an actual budget but would like to keep it down as possible..........but in this case i guess £15.00 aint that much so i probably will get the connect3d X1950XT.

I have got 1 more question about the gfx cards i got an nvida m/b so obviously when i do go dual card it has to be nvida, but are the problems that people had when changing gfx from ati to nvida still around?

Also do you think when i do go quad my cooler will keep that bad boy cooled down?

,thxs all
