New rig, any suggestions?

So if I go for a SM951, I should go with win10, and if I decide to use win7 for a bit longer a "standard" SSD will be better?

As it looks now I think I will definatly go for the Skylake. I checked today and with everything except a new GPU and storage HDD (got plenty of music and movies and stuf like that) the price would be around £975 (which I think is pretty good).

If I would like to get a GPU for the rig, in the price range of say £250-300, which one should I choose?
If you're running win 7 now you can patch it for nvme support, then simply clone the drive over to the SM951, if you want to use one.
Win 7 would then work on it.
For a clean install of win 7, a SSD will be easier - you can do it with a M2 nvme but it's a pain.
With a budget of £300 for gfx I'd wait for the price of the GTX 1070's to fall below that - they're replacing the 970's so they should end up at the same price point.

So if the GTX 1070 is replacing the 970, will the price of the 970's drop?
I've looked at some interesting EVGA GTX 960/970 cards that goes up to around £300 for the 970 cards.

But the AMD R9 cards looks quite good too, even though I'm clueless about how good the graphic cards are (I tend to ask people "I got this budget for a card, which one to get?" and go with what I'm being told)

They already have a couple of months back. With the 1070 coming in at a much higer price I doubt if the prices would have dropped much anyway. Second hand prices have really started dropping though!!
