Looking at getting a new rig and was wondering if you guys would recommend anything slightly better or more cost effective.

Krypton Z68 650i Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40Ghz @ 4.60Ghz Overclocked Bundle
Added the Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) option.

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB)
Seems worth it for £30 but is more than 8GB just overkill?

SW-000-OP_60.jpg

Microsoft Windows 7 Bundle + Seagate 1TB 6GB/S Sata
Seems a decent saving than buying the 2 seperated.

Sony Optiarc AD-7280S 24x DVD±RW

OcUK Battle 750W Dual Rail High Efficiency Modular Power Supply
I much prefer modular supplies but all the wires trailing from a normal PSU but is there anything bit more cost effective?

Cooler Master Elite 335 Case - Black
I have one of these on my current build. As it sits below the desk I don't need anything pretty to look at ;)

Akasa AK-191-SM Smoke Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin

I already have an aTi 6870 onboard my current build which i'll be getting rid of and putting my older aTi 4890 2GB back in.

For gaming mainly. I currently have a Quad Q9550 but thought i'd better upgrade for BF3 seen as I bought my system 2 1/2 years ago. I also play iRacing lots and its started struggling now even with the GPU upgrade so figured its time to do a main upgrade.

Then a i5 2500K is a much cheaper option.

Buy everything separately instead of the bundle, overclocking these chips isnt hard.

The PSU may seem overkill but it has power for say two graphics card and almost anything else you want to add.

And some clarification on this is needed, are you saying you will put a 6870 in this new rig?

pro version of the asus or maybe the asrock extreme4 gen3(option for future upgrade to ivy bridge and pci-e3.0 gpu without needing to change the motherboard as well)?

what res monitor are you using? might want to think about a 2nd 6870 as well seeing as this only £120 tho better decide quickly as pre-order price only will go up once they get stock.

If i CF then do i need to match the cards on brands too? My current one is an HIS 6870 ICEQ but they don't sell it anymore.

If i go CF then thats +£150 which seems well worth it.

What about swapping the Cooler Master 430 for a 600 and adding more fans? Specially if i'm overclocking which i've never done surely better safe than sorry

Nope, just needs to be the same ram capacity. Even clock speeds dont matter.

The CM690MKII lite? good case at £65

Case choice is entirely up to you:) just remember that if you add lots of expensive fans then you can get another more expensive case entirely.

Aye;)
