New Rig Buggered?

Hey guys got my new gaming rig delivered Friday (not OcUK) and I think the hdd is knackered or really **** :rolleyes:

The problem is whether I'm gaming, browsing the web or anything the pc keeps freezing for 5-10 seconds or just freezes completely so I have to switch it off at the wall to restart it! I only guess it's the hdd because everything loads so bloody slow as in a lot slower than my old rig :(

Specs:

Motherboard : Gigabyte Z68 Motherboard Technology
CPU : Intel I7 2700K Unlocked CPU
Hard Drive : 2tb Sata Hard Drive
Memory : 16gb DDR3 1333 Memory
Graphics Card : Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 2gb GDDR5
Optical Drive : 24x Dual Layer Sata DVD Writer
Os: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Any help much appreciated thanks.
 
Is the new hard drive the only one installed? Have you got an old one to test? then you'll know for sure if its that.

I've had the same problem before with a dodgy hard drive. You should be able to get a replacement.
 
Run HDTune and post your results. Might tell you if there is anything wrong with it.
Have you got all drivers and sata controllers installed.

Ran HD Tune and in the "Health" tab everything is listed as "ok" and I ran the "Error Scan" and every single little block is green so guessing it is a driver issue ¬.¬

Why on earth would you want to do that :confused:

The whole point of an SSD is so you can have the operating system on it for much improved system responsiveness and faster booting.

Can I transfer the windows install over or do I have to install everything again? Just spent all weekend downloading everything on the new rig >.<
