I've replied to your main thread. It's an issue I discovered at release with SLI and the 680i chipset. It will be fixed, I'm working with EVGA and Nvidia to get it sorted.

Yeah the new beta bios fixes the sound issue but sadly creates about 10 more rather serious ones, to the extent where I can't use my computer for most things now. There's a bad SATA issue that keeps freezing my computer, didn't get it prior to the beta bios but I get 30-40s pauses or hard locks when playing games or moving files that cause errors in the NVRAID monitor. This is also what's probably causing mp3's to skip and my mouse to keep double clicking when I single click every now and then.

Can't really do a lot but wait. EVGA have been good so that's some consolation. However in over 5 years of reviewing even pre release hardware, I've never come across the amount of problems, let alone serious problems that this motherboard suffers from, there's absolutely no way this board should have made it to retail with these issues. Had the Striker been available on release like the EVGA board, the EVGA 680 would probably be dead in the water since the Striker suffers from none of these issues.

So Basicly i bought a load of poo? What should i do?

BIOS Version : P21 - EVGA Recommended Download
BIOS Date : 11/22/2006
BIOS File : NF68P21.bin (filesize N/A)
Notes : The following was updated in release P21:

Improves X-Fi and internal audio functionality
Also includes these updates:

WHQL Certified BIOS
Improvements to overclocking
Enhancements for Quad-Core CPUs
Adds ability to enable splash screen

Is that the one that that messed it up?
*Sits in corner and cries*.

My SATA problem was caused by my RAM being run even 1mhz above 800mhz, fixed by setting it down to 800 for now. As for the bios, it will fix your audio problem fine. Make sure you flash it using the floppy method as even the method they claim that works for the NVupdate method doesn't actually work.

:( i got no floppy drive, looks like ill have to take it in bits again grrrrrr, so basicly long as i run my machine at stock it should be fine? Also i am not 100% sure on some of the settings in the bios if i could add you to Msn and go through the settings with you (via other pc)or is there somewhere else i should ask for such assistance?

Yeah go ahead, my msn is in my trust, will be happy to help.

You'll definitely need a floppy drive, see if you can grab one from somewhere.

Thanks will be a great help im a bit of a bios noob :) i got the floopy drive sorted and the bios flashed :) Sli enabled and no more annoying sound or unexplained crashes (so far anyway).
