New rig failure

Hi guys

I built my friend a rig and all went well. Things were running great and smooth. However after I whacked it in the car and took it to his place it it bluescreen a couple of times and kept saying 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key' when it restarts.

He is bringing it to me tomorrow and I want to know if theres any quick fixes.

Looks like the hard drive is knackered
Or he as a usb drive plugged in and its trying to boot from that

Check the cables for the hard drive haven't come loose

And that its set in bios to boot from hard drive first rather than a usb device.

Like other have said seems like the hdd. Check appropriate cables and see if the bios can detect it

Make sure you also have the correct boot device selected in the bios. Ive accidentally tried to boot from the windows recovery section before the hdd before!

Booting and then getting that message (after bsod as per original post) would seem to point to a faulty hard drive

Still, change cables in case faulty/bad cable/bad connection.
