Hey, Flatmate wants a new rig, his budget is between 650-700, he wants it for gaming and general use mostly. ive had a look and popped this together but id like some feedback from more experienced people.

and the motherboard and psu are SLI compatible (the psu has four pci-e connectors)
 
AMD system, sli isnt possible with AMD.

with a setup like this, its better to get the best gpu you can afford, so a GTX470 is still in budget?
 
I'd be tempted to drop the CPU cooler and 5770, and squeeze a 5830 in instead.

Unless he plans on overclocking, the Venom is superfluous.

yeah this looks pretty decent, would need to change for a antec 900 though as he is set on that case

EDIT: Oh just noticed the case requirement. Hmmmm well 5850 and/or matx mobo and he can have it. Personally for gaming I wouldn't skimp on GPU for more box-bling :)

wrong case, terrible(ok not completely terrible, but bad ripple) reviews of the psu.

Ah ok, I guess the OCUK shop review from a bloke in aberdeen on that PSU might not have been good enough to go on, then? :(

Its the same case as the Advanced, just missing 1 or 2 'non-essential' features (comparison here). Review of the Advanced here.
