Hi All,
Spec'd a new rig and just want your thoughts please. It's for work purposes only in which speed and Ram are most important, hence no GFX solution.

i7 3820 (LGA2011) 229.99
Asus P9X79 Pro DDR3 2400 199.99
16g Corsair Dominator Quad PC3-14900C9
OCZ Vertex 3 120 Sata3 SSD

So far, looking at a psu if one can be recommended. Don't need a case or HD, sound etc etc.

Cheers
Antan

Looks good.

I'd consider this RAM instead though:

Also an M4 is a better choice of SSD, as its fast and known to be reliable:

Then again, for a work PC I'd consider Intel for the extra warranty:

If you're not running a GPU, this XFX 450W would be my choice.

Thanks mate, why the different RAM? Issues with the Corsair stuff?

Not at all, just its cheaper and the Dominator has large heatsinks which could intefere with a cooler - which I forgot, you need to buy:
- Core Size: 32nm
- Socket: LGA2011
- Quad Core
- Frequency: 3.60GHz (3.90GHz TURBO)
- Multiplier: 36x (Upto 43x available)
- L2 Cache: 4x 256KB
- L3 Cache: 10MB
- TDP: 130W
- Heatsink & Fan NOT INCLUDED!
- 3yr Warranty
This is a good cheap option:
