I've gone for the 250gb SSD as the main drive too, but have I made a mistake going for Windows 8? Doing a bit of research and I'm not hearing too many good things about the os especially with compatability issues?!

Not sure if this belongs in the "Windows" section of the forum so sorry in advance.

No, it's where things are going, whether people like it or not.

It's really good, I like it, no compatibility issues here.

Had Windows 8 since Nov 2012.

No problems.

Son runs steam and all his games on W8 without any problems.

The OS is solid, start button is a total non issue.

Would only worry if you had an old laptop and AMD/NVidia did not update the graphics card drivers.

On a new build everything should be fine.

Windows 8 brings the added benefit of low cost / free apps to your desktop.

I don't think windows 8 will be a problem...

Just have a look at what drivers your GPU when you get it. The newest (320.18) drivers are causing all sorts of issues, it may be best to go to a previous version if yours comes with 320.18 pre-installed.

Certainly looks to be a very nice system.

I think Win8 vs. 7 is mostly just preference. I like 7 because it's what I'm used to, it's what's already on my PC and 8 doesn't offer any features I want to make it worth upgrading.

It's definitely not a mistake going for Win8, and especially since it's a brand new build it's probably better to just be up to date.
