Hi Guys

After months pondering about upgrades I have decided to go the whole hog.
No doubt you all know far more than me, so can you offer any comments and advice on this selection

Asus P5N-E
Q6660 Energy efficient
4Gb Corsair 6400 (if I change to Vista)
OCUK 8800 GT
Arctic cooling freezer 7 pro
Hitachi Deskstar 320GB 16MB HD
NZXT hush case
Samsung pebble 20'' monitor

The case is not my cuppa tea but its what you want the rest of the specs seem great what psu do you have? Also you may want to look at the tuniq tower if you are overclocking.

edit: lol just seen the psu
 
for the hdd ,i prefer seagate or western digital.
case isnt to my liking either but that your choice.
as for yoru psu, i will change it and get a seasonic or a corsair about 500W will be enough
 
Like the Mobo suggestion its cheaper than the one I selected.
Will probably go for a Western HD(the Hitachi is on offer at the moment)

I was looking at the antec range of cases, not sure what is best.

Whats wrong with my Hiper ?

The antec p182 is pretty good but if you can't go that high then get what I've got and get the antec 900. VERY good for cooling but it does however act liek a hoover with all those fans.

Also, the hipers have a reputation around here for going bang quite a lot more than other brand psu's do.
 
Suppose I could keep the Hiper until it goes bang.
Is the Antec 182 as noisy as the 900.

To answer a previous question
I have budget up to 800 but less the better (she who must be obeyed)

Hopefully I will be able to play the latest games including that one begining with C
 
Tbh, dont skimp on a PSU!! Its the heart of your machine. And just for the record I've had 3 Hyper units go bang on me
 
modifications to your orginal list. as said by others
P35 mobo
tuniq tower
antec 900 is good
modular PSU

processor ram graphics are good, dont change them
 
Dont worry your Hiper will be fine. I have got one running in my friends machine for years now, also my cousin has one. They are fine.
Just get P35 and a seagate HD.
 
Hows this look. If you could stretch your finances a little further you could get a different monitor/memory/hd?
Maybe get the antec 900 instead to save £20ish.(The P182 is much nicer tho :))
What about an optical drive?

 
I have that motherboard for my old pc and hate it, it never was good.

It clocked well to begin with then let me down :(

I know jack about monitors and which ones to go for so if you guys feel like offering some ideas.
is the OCUK value monitor any good?
