New rig - just ran 3D Mark 06

Hi,

Have just finished building a new rig, its been 3 years since my last so im very out of touch !

Specs -

Intel QUAD 2.4
PNY 8800GT
2GB 6400 RAM
Ausus P5KC mainboard
500W PSU (EarthWatts)

I scored 11811 in 3D 2006 and im just wondering if this is about right or too low ?

well you scored higher than my dads core 2 duo and 8800 gtx... so id say its looking good

I have the same CPU/Graphics but higher rated ram. On a 3.4Ghz overclock I see 15k. I dont know if that overclock warrants 3200 points though. I hardly use 3dmark

Its about right if your on vista - Overclocked I can break 15K but only on XP

Its fine ive got the same cpu, gfx and mobo as you and i got pretty much the same score all at stock

I cant even get 3dmark to work something to do with openAL or something.

There is the installer for the updated version of OpenAL, incliding the 64bit version.

Im actually running on XP at moment.

Glad it sounds roughly ok though, means things must be installed correctly

i would have expected it to be higher really. I've just had:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35
e2180 @3.2ghz
ATI 3850 256mb currently @ 745/939
4gig geil ultra 6400

i get just over 10,000 on 3dmark06 and btw the score was the same with 2gig

not bad for just under £290 !
