Now come on lads, make the man a serious computer. (I love doing this occasionly, once had it upto 30k with monitors etc)

On a more serious note I can't see how spending 7k instead of 2 - 3k is going increase performace that much, especially when most of that cash is on 6 x OCZ SSD that are barely faster than raptors (when you take into account write speed) and will be outdated in a month or two.

Maybe he wants thin dvd drives and fitting the waterblocks could be an extra challenge for him

maybe the 4870x2 blocks were a present for me ?

back on topic forget the raid card i picked. it may have write problems and a Adaptec RAID 5405 is much prefered after asking about. (im on holiday and have nothing better to do than look things up)
and a 6 disc array will be about the maximum throughput the controller will support AFAIK.
