I've just built a new PC

I7 930
6gb ram
460 1gb card

Not overclocked it yet, but I'm pretty happy with it, I installed Stalker clear sky and finally managed to complete it, my old rig pretty much ground to a halt at the red forest on much lower settings.

Next I planning on picking up Stalker Call of Pripyat, or Metro2033.
I was also thinking of Crysis warhead, I enjoyed the original but my old comp struggled with it.

I'm up for any suggestions :)

I bought BC2.
Threw the settings on the high default and I gotta admit, it looks pretty damn awesome and I can't say I've noticed any significant slow down. Had a quick play around in the SP mode, only did the 1st mission. Then after a bit of messing around with the EA login and had a quick go at MP until PB kicked me for a timeout error

I liked it, think it was a rush map, I was on the attacking team and damn it was addrenline pumping, had no real clue what I was doing so I joined a squad and did my best to follow them around.
4 of us took a boat and lead an action packed charge up an enemy beach, it was the stuff out of movies and suprisingly it worked.

But I can still see some old habits of the other BF games havn't died, twice I died because the pilot of the chopper decided to bail out. 1st time I was shocked, 2nd time I though he was actually doing some fancy low level flying, that was until we hit the water.

1 other thing, is there something up with the field of vision, i feel kinda "boxed up", or maybe I just need to get used to it.

Thanks for suggestion of mafia 2, I'll look into it, always interested to hear what I've been missing out on, in the PC market.

I bought Just Cause 2 today after holding off a while.
It looks fantastic and is an awesome laugh. (If you like messing about and blowing stuff up...)

I'd recommend that if you've not played it.

You may need to manually update punkbuster to stop those kicks. And you can change the FOV in the settings.ini in the BFBC2 folder in your document folder.

Stalker COP is a solid punt, the atmosphere is great and its quite cheap now.

Presumably you've already played through the original if you played Clear Sky.

Another vote for BFBC2 here. The singleplayer is a blast and like others have said it does look nice. The fact that you go all around the globe means that they can really show off the Frostbite engine by using it to render some pretty stunning forest and arctic scenery.
