Hi Guys,

Looking at the following Rig

E6600 - And will be looking to get 3.2Ghz +
Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi
Zalman 600W HeatPipe PSU
8800 GTS/Ultra (Probably OcUk 720 MB)
Nine Hundred Case

I want RAM and have a few questions

1. Unsure whether to get 2GB or 4GB, would I notice the difference or gaming?

2. If I go for 4Gb would 2 x 2GB be better than 4 x 1GB?

3. What RAM is best to go for in this setup?

Cheers

1. Probably not, most games 2GB is plenty. Also you'll need 64bit windows to fully address all that memory.

2. Probably, but in general the 2 x 2GB kits aren't as high specced (in terms of speed and timings) as the 4 x 1GB equivalent, and cost more.

3. Any PC6400 RAM will do the job. If you have the RAM in sync with the FSB, drop your CPU multiplier to 8 then your CPU will be at 8 x 400 = 3.2GHz, your RAM will be at stock and your system will be fast and stable*

*Assuming a stable overclock of the CPU!
