The last time I built a rig was in 2003, with no idea about anything to do with components these days I thought maybe here would be a good start. I've tried browsing various threads with search but it still looks chinese to me, I hope someone can help clear up a few things!
I want this new rig for gaming which will hopefully survive a few years of top end games, not too expensive and loads of pointless power for what I need it for (i7, 2 cards etc). I'll also want to have the option to overclock.
I figured I'd go for an "Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz" based rig. they seem to be getting the spotlight everywhere.
Problem is I don't have a clue what motherboard and ram to buy, there's so damn many of them if someone could tell me which ones best for overclocking with good stability.
So if somebody could bring me back to the year 2011 please!
I have roughly £600 to spend (minus the gfx card) but obviously, the less I spend the better.
