Hi
Im new here, So sorry if I'm doing wrong by asking, I have searched around a bit and had no luck so gathered best to ask - Im sure a few of you must have ordered via finance before.

Yesterday I signed my life away on the dotted line and popped it in the envelope and sent it off - What realistic time frame should I be looking at for the final delivery, A week perhaps?

What does D_HCR mean?

I've ordered from Overclockers.co.uk a few times in the past but never by finance.

Anyway - Dead excited, Upgrading from a Q9550 to a AMD 1090t with a h70 cooler. OCZ reaper dd2 pc28500 to Kingston hyperX1 ddr3(cheap and over clocks well so what the hell I thought) along with the ... yeah you guessed it, Asus cross-hair formula 4! from the p5q deluxe.

Also snapped up 2 vertex SSD's for a raid 0!!

Decided to keep my 4890's though, Didnt think the upgrade to anything higher was worth it, The 4890's kick out great fps and dx11 is hardly utilised in games - DX12 will be out sooner no doubt.

anyway - Hi !

Interesting choice of components, an AMD route instead of the Intel SB band-waggon. Not sure I'd have gone for 2 SSDs though - is TRIM supported in Raid arrays?

And D_HCR.. no idea!

I dont think SB is anything special.
The price of the 1090t is outstanding, I'll be happy to be back with AMD.

TRIM supported in Windows 7 - My mate has the exact same and its lightening fast, My first time with SSD's

Basicly as soon as the finanice company get back the signed stuff from you, and everything is A-OK, then its very quick, they give the go ahead to Ocuk that the funds have been released, so at that point your order will be shipped. Its very quick once the finance company give the go ahead.

About the Raided SSD's, trim will not function with raid, but the vertex's controller uses garbage collection, so all you have to do is log off and let the computer idle once a week for say 30 mins - 1 hour, and thats the same as trim basicly, it allows the controller a bit of time to do house cleaning.

TRIM doesn't work in RAID 0, no.

Ooh, Well even if not - I'll just run them independently, they are still lightening fast at 285mb/s (as stated)

Cheers for the info on the Finance company, Guess it will be here early next week :D:D

I ordered on a Sunday night, posted the docs on the Monday , rig was with me a week later.

Takes a couple of days for them to receive the docs since it's freepost (They received mine on Thursday), but you will get an email when they receive them. They spend ~24 hrs doing more security checks and then notify OCUK. My order was shipped on Friday, I received it after the weekend.

D_HCR just means that OCUK are awaiting instructions from the finance company

Very Insightful thanks

What was the reason for upgrading? Was the Q9550 struggling with anything in particular or just and upgrade itch?

The Q9550 is brilliant, It's E0 too.
But its been a while, so yeah - Upgrade itch!
Besides my mates 1090t is really impressive, You see significant improvements in games such as gta4 - That I will ever play it any more. lol

Well I know some benchmarks say one thing, and others say another - I don't look into benchmarks too much any more

My experience is GTA4 runs far better on 1090t of a similar set up to what im getting than the Q9550.

I think the 1090t has more future proof potential than the Q9550 - Besides, I didn't want to go too mad and buy a new Sandy bridge or something.

I'm currently Selling all my current hardware on E bay, and I've almost made up all that I have borrowed on finance so - brilliant!! Will possibly pay it back by end of the month.

I bought a new case a few months back - Coolermaster 690ii advanced. I love it, So a new case wasn't going to cut it lol. Nothing more fun than building a new pc anyway

Received aemail from Hitachi finance on Friday saying all is well, yet its still D_HCR :-(.trying to be patient but 5 days without a PC is tough (sold my old set up) . Think its worth pestering them to hurry up?
