P5N-E/E6300 overclocking potential? - Advice needed!

Hey guys, i'm more than likely going to be going for the following setup: Asus P5NE-SLi mobo, 2 gb Crucial 10th anni ram, E6300, BFG 8800 GTS, and going to stick something in like a tuniq tower for the cpu.

What I really want to know is what I can expect results wise from overclocking this system. Ideally, i'd be happy with a 3-3.5 GHz oc. Is there any element of the above gear that I could downgrade to save some cash on and acheive the similar or the same results? For example, would there be any disadvantages in getting an E4300 instead of the E6300?

Also, any specific advice on how to overclock the above setup would be really really appreciated!

Anyone know if the tuniq'll fit in a thermaltake tsunami dream case with side window and fan by the way? At work just now and forgot to measure it last night!

Cheers guys! :D
