Help!
I've just bought a new rig consisting of...

asus p5b deluxe
core2duo 6400
2gb OCZ
Connect 3D X1950XT

Put it all together and I'm not getting a display at all. There is a small LED just above the 6 pin connector for the ext pwr source of the g/card that is lit up called 'fault pwr source'.

I have a hyper type r 580w PSU so surely it cant be that... can it? Unless that molex is faulty I guess.

I guess Ill have to test the card in another PC somehow...

Anyone else had this at all?

Try a different PCI-E plug from a different loom if possible just to eliminate a dodgy connection as being the source of the problem. If that doesn't help then it is likely to be the PSU but could plausibly still be the graphics card itself. :)
 
Beyond any doubt whatsoever, its the graphics card. Its absolutely nothing to do with any of your other hardware/ software.

The LED is a Power Fault indicator light on the graphics card, for the graphics card.

Solution: RMA it for replacement.

Right, I probably shouldn't admit this but I found the problem...

A certain 12v cable may or may not have been attached... okay I missed it. *slaps head*

I went for the 1950XT as it was only 140 and will be fine for a while. I may upgrade for UT3 depending on how it runs.

When I install it I'll try and remember the power cable for it. Thanks for any replies btw.

Looking good.

Disable the intake fan of the lian-li tbh. It does nothing for temps and will cause an epic dust storm. I speak from experience. :)
