Just a quick sanity check needed on the following spec please.

I don't need a keyboard/mouse/monitor, as I already have those (just upgraded the display to a 22" LCD).

The machine will be tri-booting WinXP/Vista64/Linux hence the requirement for 4GB of memory rather than just 2GB as both Linux and Vista64 will be able to make use of the extra memory. Also I prefer the idea of 2x2GB over 4x1GB for possible overclocking options.

I'm not 100% on the 8800 GTX over a 640GTS ?

And how about the Gigabyte P35 DQ6 instaed of the Asus ?

Anyway, current thinking below, comments and suggestions welcome :)

Looks good, would suggest two changes though change the PSU to the Corsair 620w

And change the HDDs to two AAKS drives from WD slightly faster then the 7200.10s

I've had a couple of enermax PSU's in the past and rate them very highly (and they have a 8 pin PCI-E power connector), although you may be right with the wattage 720w may be overkill.

Thanks for the tip on the drives, I'll have a look.

Yeah, the 720W psu is a bit overkill there, it will definitely kill your electricity bill

(DONT YOU LOVE THE RHYMING?!)

Fair enough, stick with what you know.

No. Without getting into to many details, do a search & see how many times that 'myth' has come up!

OP, rest looks good ;)
