ok.. so.. ive been asked to write up a rig for my sis's boyfriend. dunno how much he wants to spend as of yet, but he wants a tidy rig capable of gaming etc etc....

firstly. mobo cpu and ram...

is this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-039-OK any good?? i have the e6400 myself, but what about the mobo and ram combo? good? or what about http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-037-OK for a bit more?? would be after a silent cooler too...

ok.. now thats done.. i need to spec a HD, GPU and monitor.
for the HD, what make size and ide/sata for general use and gaming?

gpu im thinking the HIS ATI radeon x1950 pro http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-070-HT im guessing that best for the monye reading a few posts on it.

monitor wise, i have a hyundai n91w, but are there any other decent one to go for for the same price ish... 180 odd...

thanks for your help guys

250/320GB HDDs offer the best value for money, so really just buy the biggest SATA device you can afford.

That 6600/Asus/GeiL combo is very nice. I would personally be more than happy with that, and also agree with the X1950 XT being the way to go if it fits within your budget.

As for a monitor. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-043-SA are excellent IMO.
