Hi Folks,
Last night I put together my new gaming rig after the old one came down with computer senility. Spec thread = http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18530287. I got most of the stuff on the list, apart from swapping the SSD to a Sandisk Ultra 256gb.
However, it's been playing silly buggers at bit at the moment. I installed Windows 7 x64 ultimate on it, but then an error message popped up when booting up which said:
"Fatal error: one or more table pointers are invalid. Modification could be unsafe. Press any key to continue to boot". I tried running Error checker on it and it found no issues.
Windows is installed on the SSD, and I noticed it had created a drive allocated to f: called "system reserve" which is 99.9mb of which 71.6 is free, although there are no files in there.
About an hour before this post, it had a "Boot loader error which meant the only way to get it to load up was to re-install windows as it said it couldn't repair it or recover from it.
I'm thinking that the two might be related - would a bios update and if no joy, a format c: jobbie be the next step?
