Hi all

I finally decided on what to upgrade to today and placed an order for -

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 Game
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM
Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9)
Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3)

Im upgrading from a currently dead (randomly blue screens and is quite unstable) Core2Duo 2.66Ghz 2GB OCZ Ram and an ATi HD2900XT. Fingers crossed this should be quite an upgrade. The hdd, case and drives will remain the same though. Will i have an problems with windows 7 detecting a new mobo + processor + graphics card? I assume i should un-install the ati drivers before i make the swap?

If you don't want to do a complete reinstall then just before you power down to start building enter windows in safe mode and run Driver Sweeper and completely remove all drivers currently installed.

Cool, thanks for the tips guys.

Will a Corsair 550Watt Modular PSU be enough for this system?

Do a fresh install when every you change major components. Well that is what I do at least. I would highly recommend a ssd of any sort just for OS as it makes any pc (980x or C2D) feel 500% faster.

Ive got SSD on the next shopping list, so until then i should be able to just wipe the drivers and carry on as i am until i get the SSD?

Everyone agreed that the 550W PSU will be good for the job?
