Hi Looking for a new pc upto 1k.

I want it for photoshop and the new mw3 and battlefields. It will be used with my hazro 27" screen at res of 2560 x 1440 so i guess g/card will need to be punchy.

No need for windows etc so need just base unit.

Any ideas thanks in advance

^^ that, if you dont need an OS
why spec the XFX 6950, when you can save £15 with the Sapphire/MSI 6950 2GB

Just another option, as 2560*1440 is a large res for gaming, you forgo the SSD and get a better graphics card. Or in this case 2.

2x560Ti's are cheaper than a 580 with better performance at higher res.
Downside is you have no option to add another card down the line.

YOUR BASKET
2 x Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £179.99 (£359.98)
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM £155.99
1 x Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £139.98
1 x XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply £99.98
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £61.99
1 x Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black £56.99
1 x Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA775/AM2/AM3) £47.99
1 x Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £44.99
1 x Samsung SH-S222AL/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - OEM £14.99

Kudos to J97 as this is most his build with edits.

560 with 1GB Vram is not enough for the OP resolution

A 6950/6970 with 2GB Vram will be perfect.

if you want to SLI the GTX570 in the future, i would change the PSU to a quality 850w to give you headroom for overclocking.
i would also change the SSD to the crucial m4 as people have had problems with OCZ SSds
