OS, Prob get Vista 64bit

I can't afford to buy everything in one go, so it'll be a gradual build thats why i'll leave the graphics card till last (they seem to drop in price quicker than all the rest)

Will you be overclocking? What's your whole budget?

I think you're overkilling on the PSU by a fair margin. That HDD is slower than some of its larger, cheaper counterparts. The new GTXes will be out in the next month or so so I'd definitely wait until then to get the graphics card.

what budget are you lookign at?

i doubt you will need a 800W PSU most people will recommend a corsair 520W or a 620W and you also might want to look at a p35 chipset MB or a X38 one dependign on when you buy, the 650 is only to be considered if you are determined to go sli, however if you want to go crossfire, p35 or x38 is required as intel is not licienced for Sli, for the cpu cooler i suggest a tuniq tower or the thermalright extreme 120 (or whatever its called) with a sharkoon fan for quiteness or a delta for airflow (and if you dont like your hearing)

Total budget will about the £800 mark, i doubt i'll be overclocking.
Thanks for the PSU advice, can save a few quid there.

How the heck did you get all that stuff above in for £800?!

This is what I'd get:

A pair of these HDDs in RAID 0 will be blazing fast, 190ish MiB/s. Since you're not overclocking you don't really need an aftermarket CPU cooler.

I know my list comes to just under £900 without the OS, but it could stretch to £900 depending on how much overtime I can put in.
It's going to take me a few months to build it so i've got a bit of time.
