New rig

Hi all,

This is my first build in almost 8 years, I was hoping you could give it a quick glance and let me know if I have missed anything or if there is something I should change/replace.

My current PC is a P4 2.8c with 4gb ram and an ATI x1950, so as you can see this will be a massive upgrade.

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

Graphics: OcUK ATI Radeon 6950 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

MOBO: Asus P67 Sabertooth Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION **

PSU: Antec TruePower New Modular 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9)

DVD: LG BH10LS30 10x BluRay-RW / 16 x DVD±RW Drive - Black (Retail)

Case: Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - Bundled with windows 7

Bit of everything, I'm not a pure gamer just the random game of Sins of a Solar empire/wow/ruse mainly RTS games.

I could probably downgrade certain things but I guess I am looking for the most long lasting PC at the moment, as you can see I generally keep my computer for a fair few years.

Ok thanks for that, gives me a good idea where to aim for.

Is there any reason for changing of the ram?

As I say I have been out of the game for years just do not understand the different ram types now.

Ahh right, I play about with OC now and then but don't really make it a hobby like I used to.

Ah right, I will be using the stock HS/F that comes with the CPU. Think I will stick with what you have suggested.

Is the case I have selected one you have experience with? It seems to have good reviews so I hope it will be good.
