Hi Guys,
Seems issue I am having with DVD drive is related to motherboard as 2 of my SATA ports aren't working at all now and on a third port the DVD drive is working flawlessly.
With that in mind looking at a bit of an upgade. Currently using an i5 3470 with a GTX750Ti.
Think I have the rest of the rig planned out but not sure whether to go with 7700K/GTX1070 7700K/RX580 or same GPUs with 1700x.
Head is telling me that 1700x/GTX1070 would be the way to go. For both GPUs would be looking at 8GB versions to allow for monitor upgrade in the future. Currently game @ 1080p but looking to go 1440p or even 21:9 in the future.
Or if you guys can come up with a spec for an absolute MAXIMUM of £1200 minus SSD/HDD as these are relatively new so would be reusing them. Just need base unit and planning on using Phanteks Eclipse P400 so this needs to be factored into the price.
Many thanks

1700 is great if your going to stream or video edit - if you have a look at the recent Coffee-lake thread you'll see stats posted that 1600 performs the same in games as the 1700 and on the same level as 7700k - interesting fact is i5 8400 beats them most of the time and its not an unlocked core!
