So guys we have got 2gb down and 2 gb up( With zoom). The router is really bad.
So we are going to buy a new one next month(tax refund)
We all have 2.5gb ports on our computers so here is the problem.
Nearly all of the routers i have looked at only come with one 2.5gb wan port(which the the modem needs to plug into)
So the router we need has to have 2. one for the modem to plug into and then one to plug into our 2.5gb 8 port switch.
Budget arround £200-£300 odd.
Thank you for reading.

Well, thank you all for the replies what most of you are recommending seems very advanced. and with experimenting with the various software running on those types of machines and having to then buy separate access points for wifi ? which then adds more money and more time needed to research and implement it all. i work long hours and a lot of hours so i doubt i would be able to find the time to sort all of that, hense why i was looking at a out of the box solution.. yes you are probably right it is the best solution. but atm not for me. i just need a good router. with strong wifi that doesn't drop constantly. and as i said originally must have dual 2.5gb ports. i know im limiting myself. but I have to work with what I can afford and what will work for my case.

If i had both the time and money i would get a Unifi Dream Machine se and 2 access points.

To be fair i have had Asus routers in the past and used the Merlin firmware on them and they were fine.
I just want to say thank you for the replies though. i dont get paid until the end of the month so still trying to do some research
