AOL have done me a nice deal of 24mb for £7 PCM. It'll start in 14 days time.

They will send me a new router but it's going to be shocking. So might as well get something proper.

Any recomendations?

I expect that the one they send you will be fine. A £7/month connection is bound to have horrible shaping or caps so you're not going to be able to torrent anyway, which is the only thing you need a beefy router for.

I currently pay £4 for 7mb and get around 6.5mb. I've been with AOL and what not.

The one we get will be cheap and nasy i can tell. Might as well get something decent for the wifi in the house and what not

Really, it's a bit old hat aint it!

Still the best performing router I have ever used, Sync speed beats any other router I have tried, and I have access to a lot of routers working as a Network engineer for business ISP :p

With the custom DGTeam firmware it is good, also the best value for money as its faultless.

Modern drayteks are good also, however more expensive but I guess if your ok with paying the extra then go for it. Modern linksys routers, again very good routers, lots of features, reliable however I find that the sync speed is not as good as the DG834GT, however its not a "huge" difference.

Reason I have stuck with the DG834GT as they are cheap to buy, but very respectable in performance and reliability
