So, I'm finally ditching my virgin media super-hub. Well, sort off. It's going to modem only mode.
I have a few questions about my plans for you great people here at ocuk.
Firstly I was hoping to buy a router (Asus RT-N66U Black Diamond maybe) and run a 30m cable to another room to a switch.. My xbox and PC will be connected to the switch, various other things connected to router/wireless.
My main question, Will the 30m ethernet or switch hurt my connection/ping? Every little helps...
Also, I'm very new to switches... Will a switch cause me any problems port forwarding/QoS or will it all be done normally at the router from behind the switch?
