New Router = Dropping out

I am with Virgin Media 120mb cable. We recently had our router changed to the new SuperHub because we kept complaining about service - download speeds of 120kbps, cannot play BBC iPlayer despite having amongst fastest broadband in the country etc.

The new SuperHub is good except since it was installed I am having issues with my WiFi. The speed is fine, up to 7mb/s, but it randomly drops out and will not reconnect for several minutes. This is very frustrating and next time it happens when I'm playing CSGO will result in me getting a week long ban due to all the times I keep losing connection.

My adapter = rangemax wnv111 v2 (2g only)

Will buying a new adapter possibly 5g compatible fix my connectivity issues?

Thanks

note: other wireless things in the house do not drop out - only me on my PC

I had assumed the fault was with the SuperHub, as it's always Virgin's fault whatever.

Had so many engineers out, the power levels changed so many times, that it's beyond a joke. They're either truly incompetent or brazenly couldn't care less. I think it's both.

Anyway, I haven't had a single problem with using a USB stick for wireless before. Installing a long ethernet cable isn't really viable.

Will look in to the other options listed here, thanks.
