New router, improved internet speed?

Hello,

A few months ago I moved house and at the previous house we had Sky Unlimited BB and got around 15 MB/s and in the current house we're only getting around 1-2MB/s. In the new house we're still on the same package and paying the same price but getting slower speeds, and since we've moved Sky have given us a new router and I'm wondering whether this might be the problem and could be causing the slow BB issues?

I'm not to technical on this sort of thing so I'm wondering whether a change in router would help or not?

This is probably a stupid question but I suppose if you don't ask you don't know. I think the old router is still hanging around somewhere so would it be worth trying that?

Maybe the quality of the connection to your nearest exchange, is poorer than that of your previous house?

That's what I was thinking, Although they do offer Fibre here so I suppose I'll have to look into that

Definitely go with optical fiber, it's far better than ADSL.

Quick update:

Posted on Sky's help forum and it takes them 24hours to reply but hopefully they'll be able to resolve the problem as I think our line isn't set up correctly
