looking for a router to replace my ISP supplied router
download speed from ISP is 300mb
have at least 15 devices, 3 are wired, some of the wireless devices are mimo compatible.

router must have
android app that allows me to see what devices are connected, what bandwidth they are using in realtime/day/week/month.
disable internet access on specific devices via the app.
qos (would be nice to limit bandwidth for devices)
min 2x 1 gigabit lan ports
block specific websites per device
min dualband ac1200

cheers

Are you wedded to the idea of an all-in-one device or would you be open to splitting up routing/firewall duties from wifi? Reason I ask is I don't know there are many routers that will do by device bandwidth monitoring, especially not in realtime. An all Ubiquiti solution could do most of what you want, although you'd need to leave the controller software running on a machine or else have a cloudkey running it. I have an iOS app so I guess there's an android equivalent.

Blocking websites by device is going to be tough too. I can do that with pfSense as my router but even that isn't the most straightforward thing to achieve.

Google WiFi appears to do it, but you cannot block websites per device, you can only block sites based on their safe search.

I will have a look at Asus

out interest if I went down the ubiquiti route and purchased a seperate route and access point, would I be able to achieve what want all from ios/android app?

I think the blocking websites by device is going to be the troublesome bit unless you go with something quite advanced for your router. Possibly a Mikrotik router might do it but I’m not familiar with them. There’s a couple of people on here who know them who might be able to advise better.

Also I wouldn’t get hung up on the app bit. Nearly everything has a web front end you can use on an Android/iOS device.
