i think i need a new router, currently i have a stock bt one (voyager 2500 or something) but recently it's signal hasn't been as consistent, now this is for all the computers and the xbox on the network so router is only problem i can think of, streaming has become slower at times and it cuts out quite often.

so i new router is probably a good idea cause i'm sure this one is a guff like, what would be the best one to go for? currently my main pc has a Netgear WN311T what would be the best wireless router to go for?

Hrm, just because you are experiencing slower speeds doesn't mean your router is faulty.

I'd run a speedtest with your router, then try a friends router on your line and speedtest again, using a wired connection both times.

well the signal strength has been slow dropping over time, it's range seems poorer and nothing has changed like =/

If i was going to purchase a router to receive wireless through id get a netgear one (quick google gives me DG834G). I know 2 different houses who use this router and ive set up their networks for them, up to now they have never had any problems with it. However id recommend you read into the best wireless signalled ones as i dont know that much about routers.

I'd look sources that may be causing interference if it's your actual wireless signal degrading, or possibly a neighbour running a wireless network.

Have a play with changing your wireless channel, also.
