Hey guys.

So the time has come to purchase a new cable router as my old trusty US Robotics (8-10 years old) has decided to shut up shop.

I'm thinking of going for a Cisco Linksys as I know Cisco products are always quite reliable. Going to go Wireless as well so I don't have to use my crappy Wireless router I have at the moment.

So the three I have got to choose from are shown below.

C

Apart from the difference in price I'm unsure what else and whether the other differences would be noticeable anyway.

Cheers.

10/100 network ports (E2500) rather than Gigabit (E3200 and E4200) is one important difference. There are also differences in the wireless capabilities, but only you’ll know whether they're worth paying the extra for.

I wouldn’t limit yourself to Cisco Linksys. Unless things have recently changed them printing ‘Cisco’ onto Linksys routers didn’t magically make them any better. Real Cisco kit is a different matter.

The Asus one looks pretty good and considering my other cheap one lasted me so long I guess I could afford that.

What firmware would I put on it then and what would that allow?
