New Router?

Hi

Profile:
-BT Infinity Fibre (55mbps)
-currently using HomeHub 3 (had it for couple of years and just persisted)

Problems:
-poor wifi (as in keeps disconnecting and sometimes slows to 1mbps and is fixed via a restart)
-poor connections (when say 5 people are in the house, some cannot connect to the modem, when they normally can, as it appears there are too many connections - which shouldn't happen I know)

So with this, is it better to get a new router? I would say I have a budget of around £50, give or take say £10/£20. I just need something that allows constant/decent wifi connection that also allows more than 5 people to connect to it at one time.

Any help/ideas guys?

Thanks

i just received the trednet AC1200 yesterday from OCUK £40

getting full 158mbps 8ms ping 12mbps upload wired in.

5ghz AC on the macbook air was getting 150mpbs 35ping 12mbps up

2.4ghz G was getting 20mbps down can't remember ping & 12mbps up.

Seemed perfectly fine last night and for the price was amazing

If you have the HH3 then you should have the white box connected to it as well, which is the actual fibre modem. The HH3 is just functioning purely as a router. You connect the new router to this meaning you don't even need the HH3 any more.

The only settings you need for the new router is:

WAN connection type: PPPOE
Username: [email protected]
Password: password

These are the settings I have on my RT-N53 and it works fine.

So in all, which router should I go for? The ones recommended here or are there any other suggestions. Don't mind paying more if it's decent.
