Hello all!

Im having trouble with my new build i hope you can help me out

I just built this brand new rig
Ryzen 7 1700
Gigabyte gaming3 b350m am4 motherboard
Gskill 16gb 8x2 ram ddr4 2400
Rx480 8gb asus strix
Evga supernova g2 650w
240gb toshiba ssd

Monitor aoc e2343F 23" vga/dvi

i tried plugging the monitor into dvi port and hdmi port of the rx480 (the power cables are all plugged in the motherboard and extra video card power connector)
Im turning on the pc but the monitor keeps saying NO SIGNAL! Again i tried to go from monitor dvi to rx480 dvi or hdmi but it keeps saying no signal (the monitor 100% works woth other pcs)
All the lights in the pc light up and all the fans are spinning but it keeps saying no signal on the monitor!! What could it be??
I mean it should at least show the bios right? (Even if the ram was uncompatible or something?? I dont know what to think!)

I didnt plug the ssd yet but it should show me the bios right???

It could be the cards not sitting right.

try clearing the BIOS via the battery.

Is the extra motherboard power by the cpu connected?

You have filled the gfx cards power connectors fully?

Try above - sound advice.

Also, this may sound a little odd, but try unplugging the monitor from the wall and the PC for 30 seconds and depleting all residual power via its power button (Turn off computer too, unpleg etc..)

Then plug back everything back in and make sure that the monitor is set to the correct output your using - it may do this automagically but some still need the manual touch regardless and this can be easily overlooked. Try this with different connectors if necessary - remembering to check that the monitor is set for use with the new input.

The above tip is usually applied to DP problems but I've known it to work on other modern cards using different connectors.

Ok i tried to unplug the monitor and depleted the power and replugged everything - no change

I triple checked all power connections yes they are all in place notherboard power, cpu additional 2x4pin connectors and the 6+2pin on the video card is also connected. I double checked all the connections to be plugged on the psu side (since its modular) as well and they are all plugged.

I also tried to run the system with only 1 ram stick in the slot 1 instead of dual channel sticks in slot 1 and 2. Still no change it always says no signal .... in trying both dvi and hdmi connectors on the video card and still nothing ...

Is the ram incompatibility the only possibility now?

I mean the only unlikely thing i can think of is that the cpu got squeezed too much with that screw in system that they have ?? Could it ever be? I mean i dont think thats possible ... i didnt force it too much ...

Try using the memory banks furthest away from you're CPU (banks 3-4) and see if it boots. If it posts it means you're CPU cooler is on too tight.

Might also be worth having a shot at using you're second PCIE slot instead of the first.

Also does the card work on other systems?

Ok i went to a computer rapair shop for a dyagnostic.

They saud they think "the motherboard must be faulty because if it was something wrong with the cpu or ram , a working motherboard would show a message. But there is absolutely no signal when we plug the cable in the video card"...
Do you guys agree? Can it only be a faulty motherboard?

They tried to swap for another videocard instead of the rx480 still had no signal in either of the pci-e slots ...
We did take off the cpu cooler, took the cpu out and made sure no pins where bent, and it all sitting correctly so all good there.
I cheched the psu its all connected good.
And the ram also shouldnt be the issue cause even if not 100% compatible it still shouldnt be preventing the bios to come up at all right?
...
It really seems like the motherboard, id really like to hear your opinion as I need to send the component back and i really need to make sure that the motherboard is 100% the problem and it couldnt be anything else?..

In your first post you mention:

All the lights in the pc light up and all the fans are spinning but it keeps saying no signal on the monitor!!

Did they try different memory (a known working stick) in the motherboard as this would have eliminated the memory as a possible cause? (strange if they didn't as simple test)

If they did then you would have come as close as you can to isolating the MB as the problem without fully eliminating the PSU.

Ideally, they would have tested with different, known working, memory, gfx and PSU and if it booted, then adding your components one by one until it buckled.

I would now take the motherboard out of the case and run a skeleton setup on some cardboard:- CPU/HS, 1 stick of memory (swap sticks and slots), gfx and psu and see if you can get any sign of life. This would help eliminate any cables/devices causing the issue - but memory and PSU would still be an outside bet but the MB is a strong contender.
