Hey All,

Recently decided to get back into crunching so got boinc installed on a few systems but I seem to find that on a few occasions my boxes run out of WU's to process and the download servers to retrieve anything give me warnings. Sometimes it just seems to timeout and I can restart the transfers but since early this morning I'm unable to download or upload anything across all systems. These systems aren't all on the same network and firewall access and connectivity in general all checks out ok.

Is this normal? :)

Ok that's good to know, but kind of annoying that I have a beast of a system sitting idle unable to process anything :( Is it possible to increase the number of units the system downloads?

Yup if you go to your account on the Seti site and go to Computing preferences then at the bottom click Edit preferences and at the bottom section of that under Network usage find the Maintain enough work for an additional box and put in 1 (min)-10 (max) I use 5 as a happy medium.

Its also a good idea to setup a backup project, i use Einstein@home as my seti backup.

Just sign up to the projsect(s) and set its recource share to zero this way it will only get work when you are out of seti work(like me at the moment:()
