Pretty good idea I think, always have my phone sat on my desk will be good not having to plug it in

It's definitely a nice little feature if it doesn't add too much to the monitor cost. I would be surprised if Samsung didn't launch a black rather than white variant in Europe as well. Not everybody likes 'Apple white' stuff (I certainly don't). And FreeSync support on a 1920 x 1080 60Hz monitor, well that's probably just something they'll chuck in to justify the inevitable price premium this will command.
