New Sasser style worm???

I've had trouble connecting to the net this morning.. a sasser style error box kept appearing on screen saying I had 60 seconds to save work as my machine was going to shutdown.

THis is a 2 day old XP install.. with all updates running Kiero Firewall/Nvidia Firewall and Avast! with all current database updates.

I think I've managed to stop it by disabling DCOM launching.

Anyone else having issues?

Currently running Avast! after it was given some good reviews from users..
Gonna reinstall windows in the next few weeks so I thought I'd give it a quick shot..

Gonna go back to NOD32 then though...

Did you install from a Windows XP SP2 CD and have the internet disconnected until you could ensure you had a firewall running when you did the install 2 days agao?

Yip.. cos I acidently gave my mate my USB cable modem drivers.. so I couldn't install them and therefore couldn't connect to the net..

Its mad.. I'm on the net now.. and nothing is wrong.. it'll just randomly happen!

get a router, and if not, then def dont use usb for internet, use ethernet isntead -no drivers to install for modem then
