New SB setup

Well... after the disaster of trying to install a liquid cooler on my P35 board an Q6600, I quickly ordered an i5 2500k, MSI Z68A GD55 G3 and some previously ordered Corsair Vengeance 8GB CAS 8.

Now installed in my newly aquired Gigabyte Aurora 3D (Black) and looking very smart.

I opted to not test the OcUK H20 Extreme as that's going back... but it was very tempting I have to say lol. I'm going to be putting in an Antec Kuhler 920 to replace the stock cooler, and aim for reasonable noise level. I may even try some apache's on it if I don't like the stock fans. However... this thing is DEFINATELY getting overclocked... it would be rude not to!!

Will get pics when I get time and dig out a decent camera. I'm just glad I have a working PC again (currently writing from old lappy).

At present, just installing X-fi drivers and will do the gfx card next.

Oh.. I have a Scythe Server Kaze fan controller on the way as well, which should match nicely with the black case :-) And... I will be installing a WD 1TB Caviar Black in there as well.
 
I already bought the (Caviar black). I had to buy it quick due to a deal at the time on something else though. I'm happy (hopefully) lol.

I had wanted an SB setup for some time, but I didn't want to spend this much or so quickly lol. Oh well. It's done now :-)

I'm really likeing he case as well. If the HDD cage was removed from the bottom it would be almost perfect for me :-)

There's nothing wrong with the Caviar Black it's just that you get the same performance with the Samsung F3 for less money which is all most people are bothered about.

You do get a 5 year warranty on the Caviar Black though to compensate.
 
Yeah.. good review the one you posted... I was in a rush so just quickly picked an HDD lol. And too be honest it needed to be over a certain value.. and that one happened to meet the criteria lol.

I did see a review/comments on the 1.5TB Caviar Black.. and people were having issues with coming out of hibernation it seems.

Been updating etc all night now... system seems OK :-) very cool and quiet.

EDIT: Now getting ribbed for not getting the Samsung F3 by colleagues lol. I'll live with it ;-)
