Hello all,

Wasn't sure where to put this so mods feel free to move it if I have missed a forum.

Having recently signed up to rent a flat with my girlfriend, we have started receiving scam emails on our accounts that we gave to the letting agents. I would have thought it was just a coincidence if it wasn't for the fact that we both started getting them at the same and on accounts that are 99% free of scam emails usually.

Is there any way to prove they have sold our details?

Thanks.

They've most likely had the addresses harvested by sending mass emails to everybody with your address in the CC fields, or their 7 year old Windows Vista Home PCs chock-filled with malware are leaking information all over the place.

I don't think letting agents possess the required skills to sell your details for marketing purposes.

We've never had a mass email from them, only personal ones and too a different email address. Maybe selling details is their forte - certainly being competent letting agents isn't!
