A friend was about to throw a load of equipment away at the local tip when he asked me if I wanted anything. He had a double width file server case just sat there. Is a lovely unit with scsi hot swap drives, 4 front fans and four rear fans, removable motherboard tray etc. The other drive bays are removable as well.. very handy. Comes with 2 Seasonic PSU's in it as well :D

Not sure what the heck I am gonna do with it but too good to miss the chance as is a possible base unit for a watercooling setup :D

Might try and pick it up it tonight, will see.....

It was about to be driven to the tip as his fiancee had moved in! Glad I went round there and donated some alloys with tyres for drifting :D

I will put up some photo's of my new erm.. coffee table soon as I pick it up :D

Apologies, it's not a server it's just the server case with some scsi equipment (NOT the actual drives, just the connectors, and hot swap circuit boards) still in there. To use it I would have to buy some scsi drives which probably wouldn't be very cost effective nowadays? Not sure if I could convert it to SATA hot swap though (will put up photos as mentioned).

I would still have to buy a motherboard etc for it. I think I might sand it down and spray it as it's currently 'classic cream'.

Got it home last night (no pics as yet), and had a quickie look at it this evening. It is very dusty in parts and I had to sort out the front fans as some pleb had wired them up wrong!

Still wondering what the heck I'm gonna use it for lol.

Oh and the 2nd psu is actually a redundant PSU in case the first one fails. The psu's are Seasonic SSR-300 models, so I assume that they are 300W psu's.

When I upgrade my motherboard, not sure if I should put a quad core in this thing (but what for?) or have a quad for my main PC, and chuck the dual core in this thing.
