Hi,

Im looking to build a new PC on a tight budget, I have a few options available.

I have been looking at the overclocked bundles and am pretty unsure what i should get. I want an i5 2500k but am unsure what mobo to choose.
As the chip is overclocked i wont be doing anything else to it.

I have also been offered :

The maximus formula III I7 1156 board

I7 1156 860 quad core 2.53 cpu

4 gb ddr3 ram 1600

Corsair water cooler c60
For about 300

What should I do, thanks for any help!

The 1156 models do not stand up to Sandybridge. You will be a lot more pleased if you go and buy that i5 2500K.

You say you are on a tight budget, but have not told us a specific number. What is your budget so that we can help you get the most for your money?

Well I think round about the 350-400 Mark but i might stretch to 450. Basically I don't know what I want. I just need to upgrade from my e6850 as I want to have a system that'll run bf3 nicely! I will eventually upgrade my graphics cards but I want a good base to start from. Finally all I use my pc is for gaming and I want USB 3.0 and sata for a vertex 3 ssd. Thanks

Do you want the SSD included in the spec, or are you going to be adding that later?

Do you need a monitor? What about an OS?

hmmm how about an i5 2500k with an Asrock Z68 pro3 mobo and 4GB ram. Use the onboard graphics for now or use a discrete gpu if you have one, then upgrade the gpu when BF3 comes out.

I'll be adding the ssd later, no need for monitor etc. just CPU, mobo, ram and cooler. That's why I was think about the over clocker bundles. Ihave never used asrock stuff, I was never sure about quality
