Hi

1st post so sorry if I'm being stupid.

I'm looking to build a new system primarily for gaming and running some excessive financial modelling spreadsheets and as I will be using it every day silence is a big plus.

I think I've nearly decided on a setup:

Enermax Galaxy 1000w PSU - £217
EVGA 680i Black Pearl motherboard - £376
BFG 8800 GTX OC 768MB watercooled - £470
OCZ 2x1GB PC2-9200 1150 MHZ passive/watercooled - £176
Q6600 Quadcore - £176

plans to add another 8800 and memory at a later stage so I want to be able to go SLI

I am also thinking about a Koolance case with built in watercooling to cool the above.

I have chosen the BFG over the EVGA cards as they are single slot and I think I will need the other slots for TV/sound cards etc.

What do you guys think about the setup, is it unbalanced in anyway?

Thanks
Mike

Welcome to the forums. It is all compatible although the PSU is probably overkill, as is the Ram and sweet monkey Jesus that motherboard is expensive when an ordinary system plus good air cooling will probably be about as effective and quiet.

I'd also suggest waiting until after the 22nd July to see what the proposed price cuts bring.
