Hi guys

Im in need of a new pc but don't know what to do.

I have a 500GB HDD that I can use. I aso have a 550W corsair PSU and got a CD/DVDRW drive.

Im tempted by this i5 setup but wonder if I can do a lot better building myself with the components I alread have, if I do use my existing components they would have to be capable of running the system of course. My budget is about £600 keeping it under would be good.

I just need options because I feel lost about what to do at the moment.

Thanks Martyn

No need to spend all £600.

So by using your psu and optical drive in this new case, you will have a great system, the ATI 4890 is still decent enough.

And the motherboard above supports SLI/Crossfire too.

wow you were quick. Just edited my post. Changed to 600 as I dont want my ATI card and will sell it to get an NVIDIA one, maybe the GTX 460?

But that looks quite nice what is on there.

Ok then, with a new gpu.

This shows a 4890 vs GTX460 - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/175?vs=156 not enough of a boost, so have put in a GTX560ti.

change of case and motherboard to fit the budget, the motherboard will do SLI/Crossfire also.

Did you just edit out the fact you have a 4890?

Yes because, it was sort of irrelevant becuase I am looking to get rid of it because I do not like the ATI card, I would much rather get Nvidia which is what I use to have. I find nvidia to be more reliable.

So I would sell the card and put the money from it plus some extra to take the budget to £600.

Would the stock CPU cooler be good enough, also would my power supply be sufficiant.

Its a VX550w? its plenty of power.

The stock cooler is good enough, otherwise it wouldnt be supplied with the cpus and include a 3 year warranty, it even allows effortless 4.4GHZ overclocking according to Anandtech,

Yep it is indeed. Thats good to hear.

Thanks for your help. Im tempted to order soon!

I have a passion of hate for the HAF, is there an alternative that offers great ventilation?

yes.

120mm in the front and back, can add two in the roof(120 or 140mm), and one in the side panel.

the more expensive Advanced version has,

140mm front fan.

extra fan included.

SSD mount.

top esata HDD dock, the lite just has a recess to put a phone or iPod or similar.

and a graphic card support bracket.
