I'm planning an upgrade from my AMD 4800 x2 @ 2.8 / Abit KN9-Ultra / 9600gt to an intel based system.
I have around £250 to spend (I already have 4mb OCZ 800mhz DDR2 in use)
As I have never previously run an Intel based system (well since my p150@166 lol) - I'm a bit stumped as to which mobi/cpu to go for.
My initial thoughts were for either the budget Asus SLI board + 6600q+another 9600gt or the Abit I35 pro + quad 6600 (and save for a better single card such as 3870x2)
There seems so many options as the dual core wolfdale at 3ghz is also tempting as I could push for 4ghz on that although if I could get a quad 6600 to 3.6 I would be very happy.
I have also toyed with the idea of getting a budget overclocking board and using the extra cash for a better quad.
Any ideas appreciated - its not my birthday until the 21st Aug so I have a bit of time to decide (and hope prices go down even further!)
