I like the idea of the FE 5090 with the 2 slot design. But then trying to get one is going to be pretty much impossible I guess? Lost touch a bit with brands these days...are there any real differences with the 3rd party devices, other than looks?
Really interested to see how they cool such a high TDP in a 2 slot design, got to be a beefy vapour chamber in that badboy.

Steve from GN has done a teardown on a Nvidia prototype he 'acquired' which looks to be what they based the FE cooler on. He said the cooler is impressive and should be on YouTube soon.

Gives me an extra slot for an Asus Hyper M.2 card which would suit me nicely! But if thats at the expense of a poorly cooled 5090, not worth it!

I think that was the prototype 4090ti wasn't it a lot bigger though.

I used discord to get a 3080fe last time, but that was 4 years ago. Is that what you used that has been shut down?
No i was using the telegram app and was in a group from the 30 series release which just did notifications for FE stock , the group remained active though the 1st year of the 40 series launch and was how I got my 4090 FE but the person running it shut it down a year later :( if anyone knows any similar groups please do share :D

I honestly cant see AIB cards being much more if at all than FE, that FE design is not cheap at all. AIB's will be 3-4 slotters with a more standard cooling arrangement (i bet) which is WAY cheaper to make, they just have the additional cost in the actual chip.
