ok, after having a moment last night coming home from work, i checked tyres and low and behold the back is almost out of tread!

so OCUK, i put it to you, which is the cheapest place to buy new rubber?

£135!

Be better buying from a respected bike tyre fitter. Usually the race support ones do road bikes 9-5 during the week and can offer much better prices (Plus good to know if you ever need tyres plugged or repaired)

I go to FWR in Sarrf London. Hopefully, if they've got a Pilot Road 3 in a rear in stock in my size, I'll be down there later today.

I think this is what I have on the back of my CB1000R

Roadsmart 2. I'm really impressed how it's lasting, around 6,000 miles (including 3 sessions at Brands Hatch) and it still looks very good.

Had these on the zx6r pre-crash. Great tyre and warms up quick and plenty of grip in low temps/water. Cant comment on summer riding if they overheat etc but found them great for commuting and weekend runs

Although I'm no expert on track, they seemed pretty great there too. They certainly softened up enough...

They're great as long as you're not planning on doing many straight line miles! I was going to get a set but I do a fair few road miles. They square off a lot quicker than the Rosso Corsa's. My friends Panigale was showing signs of squaring off at just 800miles road use. Super sticky though :)

Do so little road miles these days let alone straight runs. Other then coming back from the OCUK meet last year I don't think it saw a motorway. Showing signs of squaring at 800 is a tad worrying. I was hoping to get at least 1.5k out of them. How long did your mates last.

Out of a SC and hard riding yeah.. A rear Rosso Corsa will get to 3,000 miles with Road riding and a couple of trackdays as it's triple compound, that is what I use.

The SC is available is 2 compounds i think, but both are very soft.

Yep, I get pretty much the same as you edd1e out of a the Rosso Corsa. Think it was around 2700-3000 miles which included 2 trackdays, so I think they have done fantastically well. For the road they are the best tyre ive ever used.

orderd a rear one at £150 fitted ride in ride out. as the front seems to have 4mm left in the tread.

is there a benefit for nitrogen filled tyres?
