New site layout - opinions needed

Hi,

I've been working on a new site layout and I just wanted to get some opinions of layout / colours / general look and feel

The text / headings / link headings will be changed, I just needed something to fill the space for the time being. It's also just the one page at the mo.

On a technical note the footer text works on IE but not FF and I haven't been able to figure out why yet

When you say you're changing the text, I hope you're changing the font of the body text.

Headings are fine, but I would use Arial or Verdana for normal text.

Not bad at all, menu needs work though.

I would also have it at the side or near the top - the bottom isnt really the place for the main navigation.

I know what you mean mate, I just wanted to make it a bit different. I was hoping the physical look of the menu would make your eye draw to it even though it's at the bottom. Any ideas why the footer works in IE but not FF? It's just a normal text footer.

don't want to be negative but for me I think that theres too much going on in the background, soo much so that at times its distracting my attention from the text when reading.
