Friend is looking a small budget build to plug into his TV for browsing and watching movies. He will probably install Linux so no O/S required.

I had a go at this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Toshiba (7K1000.D) 500GB SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA050) HDD £35.99
1 x MSI A55M-E33 AMD A55 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £28.99
1 x AMD Athlon X2 340 3.20GHz (Socket FM2) Trinity Dual Core Processor (AD340XWOHJBOX) £25.99
1 x Aerocool Qs-101 Micro-ATX Case - Black £22.49
1 x Swift 650W V2 Silent Power Supply £19.99
1 x EVGA GeForce GT 210 Low Profile Passive 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card (01G-P3-1313-KR) £16.99
1 x TeamGroup Elite 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Single Channel Module (TED32GM1600C1101) £14.99
Total : £178.93 (includes shipping : £11.25).

Was wondering if people thought this would do the job or if there was any better recommendations?

Cheers :)

Intel NUC

Uses less power

Has warranty

Silent operation

I think you could leave it on permanently.

It has enough power to play 1080p video.
